Research Interests

Understanding gene regulation in eukaryotes presents exciting challenges in biology today. Eukaryotic DNA is not naked but wraps around millions of histone proteins, forming a very complicated three-dimensional structure called chromatin. Chromatin structure and other epigenetic factors play crucial roles in gene regulation, selectively enhancing or silencing transcriptional activities specific to various cell types. My main research interest focuses on using integrative genomics to study the interplay among transcription factors, chromatin structure, non-coding RNAs, and gene regulation in development and diseases.
